Through creating his own six acre demonstration garden at Foggy Bottom, Bressingham, England (www.thebrressinghamgardens.com) in 1967, Bloom has also sought to publicize plants and ideas for smaller private, and eventually public gardens in the U.K. and U.S.  His first "give-away" makeover garden was created in 1976 in the U.K. It was the beginning of an odyssey, wherein he eventually created 10 gardens across the U.S. including the Bressingham Garden at Elmbank, home of the Masachussetts Horticultural Society. Bloom will explain the ideas behind this long term venture - and how this could be a way to inspire more people into gardening.
